The Bible says a church with correct beliefs and practices is "the pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). We want to be such a church. The Bible is our final authority for faith and practice. Open Bible Baptist Church believes: 1. The verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture. 2. The tri-unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. The virgin birth of Jesus Christ. 4. The sinfulness of man and his need of salvation. 5. The redemptive work of Christ: His efficacious blood, His death, His burial and His ressurection. 6. The Second Coming: the pre-tribulational rapture of the church and the pre-millenial return of Christ. 7. The eternal salvation of believers to everlasting life. 8. The responsibility of the local church to promote and protect the doctrinal purity of the Body of Christ. Our major purpose is twofold. First, we want to present the Good News of our Savior, Jesus Christ, to our community and beyond. "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Romans 1:16). The Gospel truly is a life-transforming message.
